It’s been so long since I took a look around the web at other comics that are out there. I’ve had so much on my plate lately that I feel a little guilty whenever there’s the slightest bit of downtime. It’s been difficult to enjoy anything when I all I can think about is the ever-expanding list of things I should be working on at any given moment.
But I think some of the most exciting times I’ve had working on this comic have been when I was in the midst of discovering what other creators were up to. So that’s my mission this week – to seek out a few new webcomics and give them a look. Maybe even take some notes and attack our next strip with a few new ideas to try out.
One year out of the gate is waaaay too early to even think about becoming jaded, but I do miss when this was a brand new world to us and each week was its own little adventure. We definitely still have a long way to go and many, many lessons to learn – but it would be nice to get just a little bit of that initial awe back.
I think it’s possible. Just need to filter out the distortion of the daily grind.
